I did go somewhat off prompt in that I didn’t really know how to bring Sherlock into the story without changing the tone I wanted for it and possibly slipping into slash (don’t laugh, I’ve done it... far too many times) – though I too would love to see a piece where Sherlock addresses John’s past.
